It appears a little too soon to be able to sort out the latest chapter in some of the best tragic political theater since Hamlet. But we find it more than a little curious that the current Town Council was confronted with a roomful of people clearly on the side of change and behaved as they did.

We’d say we’re impressed with Mayor Smith’s ability to keep his cool, but we’ve never had a problem keeping our own cool when our kids acted this way.

I can’t believe Bonnie had a flip video camera taping the Mayor. That is just not the way grown ups act. Then again, no one says any of these people are grown ups. This is an embarassment.
A grad school mentor shared a bit of wisdom with me that was so good I’ve never forgotten it.

This was like a soap opera. Who needs TV when you can just attend a council meeting in Argyle. I keep watching it over and over because it is just too unbelievable to be real.
So, how did it end – with them discussing all his prior places of employment and job titles????? Is there another video? This is so SAD for the citizens of Argyle. I hope the council members will go back and watch the videos and observe their unprofessional behavior and apologize to the citizens they are elected to represent. Too bad we can’t just start from scratch!
Mr. Trimble’s opinion of the play-by-play will make you laugh, but at the end, he calls it what it is.

Wow, I knew Matt Smith was dumb before this meeting, but now, it is apparent that Argyle has elected probably the stupidest person in town as their mayor. Not to mention he is a convicted criminal several times over. Sad, really.
Heads up to our regular readers: The previous personal comments about Schroetke and Smith are not based in logic, and instead use that classic tactic called “poisoning the well.”

What amazes me is that Dona Shroetke really seems to believe herself. Just drive on out to Old Justin Road and see the lots with no fire sprinklers – even though she was initially turned down for a variance. Then she ran for council, got the planner fired, and now she has them. AMAZing.
